Here's a song I wrote for one of my characters (Rockergirl) in Cyberpunk.
However, it's literary enough to post here (I hope). The music's spinning
around in my head, but I haven't written it down. It's a lament, so it's
slower than most metal/thrash. It's about the same speed as Metallica's
'The Unforgiven'. The subject is cyberpsychosis.
METAL LAMENT
<CHORUS>
How could you be so blind?
The metal has taken your mind.
You used to be a man so kind,
But the metal has taken your mind!
There are people in this world
With bodies made of steel.
Their soul has been torn
>From their humanity.
A body that is grand -
A mind that is not free!
<CHORUS>
I take you by the hand -
A hand that's made of steel.
Tell you, 'look into your heart' -
A heart that does not feel.
And I look into your eyes -
Those eyes that do not see!
<CHORUS>
The corporation beckons,
And you leave me behind -
For when you give your body,
They also steal your mind.
And in this world your love
Was all that I could find!
<CHORUS>
I look to myself;
Find pieces are not real.
There are pieces in your mind
That the body cannot steal -
So I try to keep a piece
Of my humanity!
<INSTRUMENTAL>
<CHORUS>
<CHORUS>
Yours creatively;
