Her vision is filled with dizzy cloying images. Colours bleed into one another, grappling on a grainy battlefield. Black wields inevitability, red declares war on blue, clashing in yellows flame and greens gore, flesh tones are overwhelmed, ghostly forms die and are reborn, barely formed phantasm swim through the maelstrom vaguely resembling the latest fashions and soap opera friends. Uncomfortable short angles and claustrophobic ungainly twisting motion punish her as she thrashes to escape. She's reeling, giddy, panicking. She claws frenetically at the display. Fights to remove it. Fights to take a breath. Drowning. Someone's screaming. Someone's dying. On the street the crowd beats a wide path around the crazy. She's naked and screaming, blood pours down her face. The warm rain smells of piss and washes away a little madness. She lies there still now, a convulsive motion agitates her limbs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Copyright 1993 by Fabian Le Gay Brereton.
